GYST workshop by founder Karen Atkinson in
Redwood City,CA

What is GYST? An organization by artists for artists, based out of LA, to help you organize your art and career. Check out our speaker, Karen Atkinson's TED-x talk.
One take-away is we learned how adding "juried" to your art resume is no longer seen as prestigious. "Invited" is what you need to make an impact.
Fun after-workshop with Karen, at Harry's Hofbrau, to talk about what we just learned! See below, Lillie, Jill, Karen and Della on left; with Rachel and Susan on right.

in Redwood City.
Our speaker this year,
Chris Miller, show us how play ignites liberation in ALL areas of life. She will give us improv exercises which pushes our creativity into another dimension. Anne Gianacola and Susan Kraft joined in on the her improv play with the Northern California WCA chapter last summer and knew she'd be great for our chapter too.

2105 SWAN Day exhibition

The exhibition is on display from March through May 4, 2015 at the Bankhead Theater, 2400 First St, Livermore. The Artists’ Reception is on Thursday, April 2 from 6:00-7:30 pm. The reception is free and open to the public.

2014 Members' Fall BBQ Meeting
We held our fall open board meeting in Anne Giancola's backyard, in Pleasanton. Anne is our SWAN Day Liaison. She and Katie Morton are working together to develop a fabulous SWAN Day event for us. SWAN Day is the last Saturday of March.

More news from our BBQ is we are looking for an esteemed juror for our summer 2015 San Francisco show, titled, "Sexism: A Touchy Subject". it is our 26th annual members show and this year, we are opening it to any US self-identified female artist. Our members are invited artists who can have one juried piece in the show.
We asked for members to consider forming a juror
committee to pull together prospects and vet them for this important show.
